Our Four Pillars

Missional Neighbor

We host irresistible events, open our homes for radical hospitality, and seek opportunities to show genuine care for our fellow residents. As we do so, we invite our neighbors into a deeper sense of community. By thinking creatively and establishing a high standard for resident engagement, we create rhythms within our apartments that foster a sense of belonging and value.

Authentic Neighbor

As we seek to understand people’s story, we are more able to see how the Gospel directly affects their context. We foster genuine curiosity and good question asking through our intentional coursework, featuring various readings and conferences.

Biblical Neighbor

Resident Life Ministries seeks to train disciple makers who are equipped for missional living in whatever context they may be called. Our team will develop a foundational understanding of God’s Word and how it engages us deeper in the work of loving our neighbors.

Global Neighbor

Discover more of God’s heart for the world and your place in the mission of seeing every “tribe, tongue, and nation” won for Christ. We dive into various levels of coursework and cultural practices to expand our knowledge of the world around us. We will pray for the nations and engage with God’s heart for his global Church.

Partner With Us In Transforming Lives

Resident Life Ministries is organized as an association of churches who prize healthy local churches as God’s means to accomplish the Great Commission. In particular, Resident Life Ministries is an undertaking of local churches with shared doctrinal beliefs who are joining together in a cooperative effort to implement strategies that seek to support the extension of the Kingdom of God and the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by specifically ministering to individuals living in urban and suburban apartments complexes in fulfillment of the Great Commission and the Biblical command to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 12:31).Cooperative churches are churches whose doctrinal beliefs and practices are consistent with the historic and Biblical teachings of Christianity set forth in our Doctrinal Statement and support the mission of Resident Life Ministries. Cooperation with churches may take many forms but may include:

2 Identifying, equipping, commissioning, and providing resources for Christians from cooperating churches to live and serve in apartment communities where they can proclaim the Gospel through their lips and their lives, love their neighbors in these communities as Christ has loved them, and minister to the spiritual and practical needs of community residents; and

3 Carrying out Gospel ministry in specific apartment communities through the Association and cooperating and member local churches to meet the spiritual and practical needs of community residents.

Vision for Coordinators

Authentic

Resident Life aims to equip our teams to enter into the pains and intricacies of peoples' stories. We meet regularly to discuss what it looks like to develop a curiosity about others that fosters genuine relationships. Through the context of authentic relationships, the seeds of the Gospel can be sown.

Biblical

Various courses help develop our teams in their knowledge and application of the Word of God. We spend time together each week learning together, with the aim of also growing in our love for our neighbor and our desire for them to know the Gospel.

Global

We believe that God's heart is for the whole world. A vast and beautiful God is revealed more beautifully in 'every tribe, tongue, and nation.' We aim to see our neighbors here and across the world won for the Lord and we seek to grow in our knowledge of the people he has created.

Missional

The heartbeat of Resident Life is to live a life on mission, partnering with the Lord to love the neighbors he has given us. In our context, that looks like investing deeply in our apartment communities and intentionally connecting. We meet weekly to discuss, encourage, and pray together in this process.
